On November 8, 2013, shortly after 8pm, Headingley RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire at Wojick Crematorium on Wilkes Avenue in the RM of Headingley.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious. The fire was electrical in nature and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
RCMP along with Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner confirm the recovery of predeceased remains which were at the site awaiting cremation.
Damage is estimated to be one million dollars.
