On November 19, 2013, shortly after 3pm, Poplar River RCMP responded to information that a 27-year-old woman was returning, with marihuana, to the community of Poplar River on one of the scheduled air flights.
Police say that the woman, who was traveling with two children and an infant, was arrested and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Some of the marijuana seized had been wrapped in an open package of baby wipes and stored in a child’s pink backpack.
RCMP report that the woman has since been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Poplar River Provincial Court on January 14, 2014.
