On December 18, 2013, shortly before 1pm, officers from Meltia and Virden RCMP responded to motor vehicle collision on Highway 1, three kilometres east of Oak Lake turnoff.
Initial investigation suggests that a pickup truck ran into the back of a semi-trailer. This collision caused three other vehicles to take evasive action and those three vehicles went off the road.
Police say that seven vehicles in total were involved in three separate collisions with the initial one having taken place between a pickup truck and a semi-trailer.
There are no injuries reported at this time.
Blowing snow and poor visibility were contributing factors in this incident. RCMP advise motorists to adjust their driving for the weather conditions. Slow down, drive with caution and increase your distance between other vehicles.
