On December 22, 2013, at 9:35pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP was dispatched to the scene of a house fire in the RM of Ritchot, on PTH 75, just north of Ste. Agathe. Fire trucks from the RM of Ritchot and the RM of Tache responded to the fire.

Upon arrival at the residence, police discovered that the structure was fully engulfed in flames. No one was in the residence at the time of the incident and there were no reports of injuries or damage to other buildings.

RCMP report that the residence is a total loss and that the value of the damages is not known at this time. The Office of the Fire Commissioner was notified.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
