RCMP have made two arrests in connection to a recent murder that occurred at Pauingassi First Nation this past December.
RCMP have arrested and charged 22-year-old Rodney Suggashie and 24-year-old Jamie Suggashie with the second degree murder of Neilson Garnett Owens. Both the victim and accused were residents of Pauingassi First Nation.
An autopsy was completed in Winnipeg on December 26, 2013, that determined Owens died as a result of a homicide
Both Rodney and Jamie Suggashie were remanded into custody and appeared in Winnipeg Provincial Court on December 31, 2013.
RCMP Little Grand Rapids Detachment along with the RCMP Major Crime Services and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
