On January 1, 2014, shortly after 4pm, Virden RCMP were dispatched to a rural property in the RM of Woodworth, northeast of Virden, in response to a report of a man trapped by a snowmobile.
RCMP report that a 55-year-old male was found pinned between the track that propels the snowmobile and the machine itself. Local EMS worked on the man, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
An autopsy has been ordered and will take place in Brandon.
