RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating David Grange Preston, a resident of Flin Flon, Manitoba.
Just before 5am on January 4, 2014, Flin Flon RCMP responded to a report of a house on fire in the City of Flin Flon. When officers arrived at the scene, the house was engulfed in flames. Local fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
The building is considered a total loss. The Office of the Fire Commissioner will be investigating.
Police say that the house was searched for the homeowner and lone occupant, but he was not found. RCMP are concerned for the well-being of David Grange Preston, 59, who is considered at-risk.
Preston is described as 6’1″ with hazel eyes. He walks with a distinctive gait.
Police are asking that anyone with information as to the whereabouts of David Preston to please call the Flin Flon RCMP at 204-687-1423.
Update
While following up on all avenues to locate David Preston, 59, assumed missing after his residence was engulfed in flames, Flin Flon RCMP returned to the house for a secondary search. Officers discovered human remains at the scene. It is believed the remains are those of Preston, pending positive identification and autopsy.
