On January 11, 2014, shortly after 2am, Steinbach RCMP members were dispatched to a structure fire at a commercial property on Highway 311 in Blumenort, Manitoba.
Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP members found a large multiple storey warehouse fully engulfed in flames.
While Steinbach, Ste. Anne and Kleefeld fire departments worked to contain the blaze, RCMP evacuated several nearby residents as a precaution. Residents have since been permitted to return to their homes. Police say that there were no injuries.
RCMP report that the fire was contained to one building on the property. The building and its contents are considered a complete loss with damage estimated to be in the millions of dollars.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner is investigating the cause of the fire.
