Ted Falk, Member of Parliament for Provencher, today reminded area businesses and not-for-profit organizations that the deadline to apply for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs program is January 31, 2014.
“Employers can now apply for Canada Summer Jobs 2014 funding, which will create thousands of job opportunities for students across the country,” said MP Falk. “Our government continues to focus on creating jobs, economic growth and long-term prosperity. Through Canada Summer Jobs, we are helping students get the skills and training they need for jobs now and in the future.”
Funding will be available to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses. Young people aged 15 to 30, who are full-time students and intend to return to school in the fall, can qualify for these job opportunities.
Canada Summer Jobs 2014 is expected to create approximately 35,000 jobs, while helping employers address skills shortages.
Applications are available on the Service Canada website or at tedfalk.ca.
