On January 26, 2014, shortly after 8am, Portage la Prairie RCMP and local EMS responded to a report of a female located in a snowbank at the Portage la Prairie Recycling Depot.
Police say that the female was located and CPR was initiated. She was then transported to Portage General Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
RCMP report that the deceased is a 20-year-old woman of Poplar Bay, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Foul play is not suspected in this incident. Frigid weather conditions is considered a factor in this matter. A post mortem is scheduled in Winnipeg to confirm cause of death.
