On May 10, 2009 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Steinbach RCMP were informed of a single motor vehicle rollover on Highway #1 about 9 miles east of Richer, Manitoba.
Investigation revealed that a minivan driven by a 68 year old man was west bound on Highway 1 when it lost control. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle which rolled several times into the west bound ditch before landing on its roof. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and extracted by emergency services. He was transported to the Ste. Anne General Hospital and then subsequently to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Center.
Bernhard Kehler from Steinbach, Manitoba was later pronounced dead at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Center.
No additional information is available at this time. The investigation continues.
