On February 7, 2014, shortly before 9am, St. Pierre RCMP and local EMS and Fire responded to a single vehicle collision involving a Red River Valley School Division bus on Highway 205, west of St. Pierre in the RM of De Salaberry.
Police say that the bus driver, identified as a 26-year-old woman of St. Pierre Jolys, was travelling eastbound on Highway 205 when she collided with the guardrail on the southside of the Rat River bridge. The bus came to rest on its side in the ditch. The female driver was the sole occupant of the bus at the time and was transported to the RM of Desalaberry Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Speed, alcohol and visibility have been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision. St. Pierre RCMP continue to investigate.
