On February 12, 2014, around 7pm, RCMP officers in Dauphin were called to a Main Street gas station as a robbery had just occurred.

Officers attended immediately and learned that a lone male had entered the store, grabbed a fire extinguisher and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied with the demand and turned over money from the cash register. The male then fled the scene on foot. Police say that neither the clerk nor a customer who was in the store at the time of the incident was injured.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect from the description given by the clerk and from viewing surveillance video from the store. Approximately 45 minutes later, the suspect was located at a business in the west end of  Dauphin and was arrested without incident. A quantity of cash was seized from him upon his arrest.

RCMP report that Trevor Colin Severite, 30, from the Valley River First Nation, has been charged with robbery and is scheduled to appear in court.
