On Feburary 28, 2014, Selkirk RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 8 and Donald Road in the RM of St. Andrews. Of the two vehicles involved, one was traveling east and the other, a pickup truck, was traveling south.
RCMP report that the 66-year-old male driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced deceased. The 43-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was taken to Winnipeg hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other persons involved in this incident.
Police say that the pickup was transporting a snowmobile in the bed of the truck.
