Just before 5pm on March 5, 2014, while investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence, Treherne RCMP seized a quantity of marijuana.
While on patrol, police observed a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire on Highway 2 in the RM of Grey, Manitoba. The vehicle was stopped as it was exceeding the posted speed limit, traveling 138 KPH in a 100 KPH zone.
Subsequent police investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of approximately 3.3 pounds of marijuana, a number of hydromorphone pills, open liquor, paraphernalia related to trafficking marijuana and a sum of cash.
RCMP report that 51 year-old Darly Todd Price of Cypress River, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Price is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court.
