On March 16, 2014, just before 3:30pm, Oakbank RCMP responded to a call that a child had been mauled by two dogs in the RM of Springfield.
Police say that a seven-year-old female from the RM of St. Andrews was rushed to Winnipeg hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that two Alaskan Malamute dogs were seized and are being held by RM of Springfield Animal Control while the investigation continues. The dogs were familiar to the deceased.
