The Honourable Vic Toews, President of the Treasury Board and MP for Provencher, tabled the 2009-10 Supplementary Estimates (A) in the House of Commons. The Supplementary Estimates outline Government spending and show that nearly all of the 2009-10 Economic Action Plan stimulus funding has been allocated.

“Within two months of tabling our Economic Action Plan, we have received nearly all the necessary authorities for funds to flow, including $10 billion through the Budget Implementation Act which was introduced and passed in record time,” said Minister Toews.

“We are moving at record speed to stimulate our economy and protect Canadians. Our Economic Action Plan is our plan to help Canadians weather the global economic recession, to stimulate our economy and to invest in our long-term prosperity.”

“Thanks to our measures, funding is in place almost 9 months earlier than in previous years.  Our Government is the only party that has offered Canadians a plan – our Economic Action Plan – to offset the impacts of this global downturn. We will continue to deliver relief to Canadians,” concluded Toews.
