Spring roadway weight restrictions in Steinbach will commence on Monday, March 31, 2014. The restrictions which were to come into effect earlier in the month have been delayed due to the prolonged cold weather.
Weight restriction signs are expected to be posted Monday on all gravel and asphalt surfaced streets in order to avoid roadway damage during the spring thaw period. A load restriction of 65% of the normal legal axle loadings is now in effect and will continue until June 14, 2014 or further notice.
The City of Steinbach’s Community Services Officer will be monitoring truck activity within Steinbach. The 65% of normal axle load rules will be applied enforced and fines issued to violators accordingly.
