A Winnipeg man is facing impaired driving charges after being arrested by Steinbach RCMP this past weekend.
On March 29, 2014, Steinbach RCMP received two 911 calls of an erratic driver on Highway 52 near Mitchell. Witnesses reported that a white Chevy Silverado was driving in the oncoming lanes and almost had a head-on collision with oncoming traffic.
Steinbach RCMP as well as St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded and located the vehicle on Highway 59, just south of Highway 52. A 30-year-old Winnipeg man was arrested for impaired driving.
Subsequent breath samples confirmed that the driver was over the legal limit and operating a motor vehicle while impaired. The driver will be facing charges of impaired driving and driving over 80mg%. He will be appearing in Steinbach Provincial Court at a later date.
