A local area man is facing impaired driving charges after being arrested earlier in the week by Steinbach RCMP.
On March 31, 2014, at approximately 1:30pm, Steinbach RCMP received reports of a vehicle blocking traffic on Brandt street near Mckenzie Avenue in Steinbach. Officers attended the location and found the vehicle with the driver behind the wheel. Police arrested the driver for impaired driving and subsequent breath samples confirmed that the driver was over double the legal limit.
RCMP report that the driver, a 35-year-old male from Steinbach, will be facing charges of impaired driving and driving over 80mg%. He will be appearing in Steinbach Provincial Court at a later date.
