A Winnipeg man is facing numerous drug related charges after being recently being arrested by Portage la Prairie RCMP.
On March 22, 2014, at approximately 5:30pm, Portage RCMP stopped a speeding vehicle in the RM of Portage la Prairie. During the investigation, police located a kilogram of cocaine and a substantial amount of cash.
RCMP report that 25-year-old Jeffery-John Salas of Winnipeg has been arrested. Salas has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. He has been released from custody and is to appear in court May 5, 2014.
RCMP would like to remind the public that those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities. The RCMP remain fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
