On April 10, 2014, at approximately 7:45pm, Steinbach RCMP received a complaint of two men fighting outside their vehicles in Steinbach.
Police say that a witness indicated that both males got into their vehicles and departed the area. Further witnesses advised police that a male had just got his vehicle stuck in some mud and appeared to be impaired.
Officers located the male and it was learned that the subject had pulled another male out of his vehicle, assaulted and stole an item from him. A 29-year-old man from Steinbach was later located and found to be in possession of alcohol and concealed weapons. Further investigation revealed that he was bound by a court order and was found breaching his order.
RCMP report that the 29-year-old man has been charged with robbery with violence, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, failure to provide a breath sample and four counts of breaching his court order. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Monday April 14, 2014.
