On April 15, 2014, at approximately 6pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a call that a child had been mauled by two dogs in Lac Brochet, Manitoba.
Police say that a 10-year-old female from Lac Brochet was rushed to the local Nursing Station, where she was pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that two large dogs of unknown breed were destroyed by community members. The dogs did belong to a community member, but were not known to the deceased.
An autopsy has been ordered in Winnipeg.
