On April 17, 2014, at approximately 6:30pm, Headingley RCMP conducted a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Headingley, Manitoba.
RCMP report that while officers were investigating, the westbound suspect vehicle, a sedan with British Columbia plates, fled the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle. A spike belt was employed near Poplar Point, which flattened the tires of the suspect vehicle.
Officers were able to arrest one male driver and two female passengers, approximately one mile north of Fannystelle, Manitoba, just before 7:30pm. The three suspects are now in custody and charges are pending.
Headingley, Stonewall, Carman and Lundar RCMP detachments as well as Portage Traffic Services and Headingley Rural Detachment assisted with the arrest.
