On May 17, 2009 at 4:45 a.m., RCMP Bloodvein Detachment was dispatched to a residence and asked for assistance to escort a male individual reportedly bleeding to the nursing station. Further inquiries revealed that the male in question had been shot at with a firearm.
RCMP attended the residence and took a 33-year-old male to the Bloodvein Nursing Station. The male, a resident of Bloodvein F.N., was subsequently medevaced to the Health Sciences Centre where he is listed in stable condition.
Eighteen-year-old Danielle Loraine Cook of Bloodvein was arrested and is currently in police custody. She has been charged with aggravated assault, discharge firearm with intent to wound, possess firearm while prohibited and breach of probation.
She has been remanded into custody for court Tuesday May 19th in Winnipeg.
