Just before 5pm onĀ April 20, 2014, while investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence, Treherne RCMP seized a quantity of marijuana.
Police on patrol observed a 2000 Chrysler Intrepid on Highway 2 in the Rural Municipality of Victoria, Manitoba. The vehicle was stopped as it was exceeding the posted speed limit, traveling 116 km in a 100 km zone.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the two occupants of the vehicle were in possession of approximately 976 grams of marijuana, a number of morphine and clonazepam pills without a prescription, as well as a sum of cash.
RCMP report that 51 year-old Daryl Todd Price of Cypress River and 32 year-old Sean Hudson Purdy of McCreary, Manitoba, are facing a number of drug related charges. Both have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Federal Court at a later date.
