On April 26, 2014, shortly before 6:30pm, Manitou RCMP were called to the scene of an off-road vehicle fatality.
Police say that a group of three males were riding on a gravel road. The lead rider went around a corner out of view of the other two riders. When the two riders came into view of the lead rider, they noticed that the rider had been thrown from his quad and was unresponsive.
Local EMS attended. The 20-year-old male rider from the RM of North Cypress, was pronounced deceased on scene. He was transported to Carman Hospital.
RCMP report that the deceased was not wearing a helmet and that alcohol is considered a contributing factor in the fatality. An RCMP Forensic Traffic Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.
