On May 7, 2014 at approximately 11:44pm, Steinbach RCMP were on patrol near La Broquerie, Manitoba, when officers observed a vehicle displaying abnormal driving habits. Police say that the vehicle was stopped westbound on Highway 52. Investigation revealed that the 47-year-old male driver from Steinbach had consumed alcohol. He was issued a 24 hour suspension and his driver’s licence was surrendered to police.
Also on May 7 at approximately 2:28 am, Steinbach RCMP were on patrol in Steinbach, Manitoba when they observed a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped and the 28-year-old male driver from Steinbach was found to be impaired. Further investigation also located a stolen snowmobile. The driver will be facing charges of impaired driving, driving while over 80 mg, possession of stolen property as well as Highway Traffic Offences. He will appear in Steinbach court at a later date.
