The Steinbach Arts Council is pleased to present an opening ceremony celebration for both Myriam Boulet and John Pawlyka on May 21 at the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre. Myriam Boulet will have her exhibit “Travel Photography” on display, as well, John Pawlyk will be showcasing his “Through My Eyes” exhibit.
Myriam Boulet was born and raised in south eastern rural Manitoba. Her passion for the arts began at a young age, while touring Europe with her family as her parents taught her the importance of the arts and how to appreciate their intricacies. Since then, she has traveled to 30 different countries on 5 continents, attempting to capture the splendor and simplicity of cultures different from her own. Boulet is mostly self-taught but has studied various aspects of photography to better understand the mechanics of the art form. One of Myriam’s pursuits is to find beauty in situations otherwise seen as unattractive or common. She believes that every circumstance is unique, and that a meaningful photograph can be captured at any time.
John Pawlyk from Landmark has been working in the creative filed for over 35 years as a professional illustrator, graphic designer and exhibit designer. Working in the field of Canadian history (Natural and Human), taking him from the sprawling prairies to the Canadian Arctic and beyond. Pawlyk found the Yukon and Northwest Territories to be hauntingly beautiful.
This exhibit will be on display from May 21 to June 19 at the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre. No Admission is required but a Toonie Donation is requested.
