At approximately 1:15am on the morning of May 21, 2014, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP Detachment were called to a Main Street business as a robbery had just occurred.

Officers attended the scene and learned that a lone male, armed with a knife, had entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied by handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled on foot leaving the clerk uninjured.

Police say that approximately 40 minutes later, a person matching the description of the suspect was observed walking near the downtown area. After a brief foot chase, the suspect was apprehended.

RCMP report that a 17-year-old male youth from the Pine Creek First Nation remains in police custody.
