On June 10, 2014, just before 7am, Brandon RCMP responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred just west of Brandon, Manitoba.

Police say that a motorist had been flagged down on a rural road, approximately five kilometres west of Brandon, by a woman in need of assistance. The woman, a 26-year-old from Brandon, had obvious injuries and showed indications of being sexually assaulted. She was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Initial police investigation shows the assault occurred in an open rural space.

Brandon RCMP are investigating the incident with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.
