The opening of the outdoor pool at the Steinbach Aquatic Centre has been delayed due to mechanical difficulties involving the heating unit. Although the parts that are required to fix the problem are on route, a date when the pool will be open is currently unavailable.
A different issue with a filter system is also causing the outdoor splash park to be unavailable, at least for this weekend.
“It is unfortunate that our outdoor facilities are not open now that summer is officially underway, but we hope to get things fixed and open for enjoyment as soon as possible,” says Dean Janzen, Aquatic Centre Manager. He noted that the indoor facilities are all open.
Janzen also mentioned that the mechanical issues will not impact summer swimming lessons which begin the week of July 7th. Summer lesson registration is taking place on Thursday, June 26th at 8:00am.
