On July 2, 2014, Central Plains RCMP were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in Dakota Tipi First Nation, Manitoba.

Police investigation revealed that shortly before 2:30am, a lone male had entered Karl’s Smoke Shop wearing a disguise over his face and brandishing a hammer. The male fled the location in a vehicle without any cash or merchandise.

Police say that a vehicle was located a short distance away in the ditch and a number of suspects were located and arrested.

Following further investigation, 27-year-old Patrick William Richard, 30-year-old Angelica Lynne Myran and 23-year-old Jesse James Smith, all of Long Plain First Nation, have been charged with attempted armed robbery. John Henry Beaulieu, 21, of the RM of North Norfolk, has been charged with attempted armed robbery, wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence and failing to comply with a probation order.
