Steinbach MLA, Kelvin Goertzen, offered his thanks last week to U.S. Consul Tim Cipullo for his tenure as the U.S. Consul in Winnipeg which will be coming to an end next month.

Cipullo has been stationed in Manitoba since August 5th, 2011 and will be taking up a similar position in Manilla beginning in September. Goertzen noted that Cipullo was a frequent visitor to rural Manitoba, including Steinbach. Goertzen, who is a member of of the U.S.-Canada MidWest Relations Committee says while there are currently a number of important issues of concern between our two countries, the United States remains our most important trading partner and international friend.
