At 7am this morning, the gates of Birds Hill Provincial Park opened and Folk Fest attendees started filling the park to claim their spots for this year’s festival.
The RCMP want you to have a fun, memorable and safe festival experience. Here is a list of do’s and don’ts to make that happen:
- Do arrive at 7:00 am, not before, to gain entry to the park. There will be no parking on Highway 59 or on the ramps leading into the park before the gates open
- Don’t camp, set up chairs or play games in the ditches adjacent to the roadway. High-speed vehicle traffic can quickly create a dangerous situation
- Do remain in your vehicle at all times until safely parked in designated areas inside the park
- Do check the Folk Fest website for information on parking, camping and festival safety
- Don’t drink and drive. RCMP will be out in full force to keep impaired drivers off the road
- Do be cautious on the roadways, as it is a busy time and there will be a lot of traffic. Slow down, put your cell phones away and focus on the road
- Do have fun!
