On July 16, 2014, at approximately 8:30am, Swan River RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Provincial Road 483, 12 kilometres west of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba (Shoal River).
Police say that it appears that the minivan rolled and landed upright in the Bell River. A 24-year-old female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle from Sapotaweyak Cree Nation was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP report that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision and that the deceased was ejected from the vehicle. It is not known at this time if the deceased was wearing a seatbelt.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
