On July 16, 2014, at approximately 5am, Winnipegosis RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a residence in Camperville, Manitoba. Police seized a significant amount of marijuana, as well as a large sum of cash and six firearms.
Police say that an adult male and female were arrested at the residence and charges are pending. The owners of the home were not at the residence at the time, but Peter Paul Chartrand, 58, was arrested a few hours later. Sharon Lynn Chartrand, 53, was arrested July 17, 2014.
RCMP report that both Peter and Sharon Chartrand are facing numerous drug-related charges and will be making their first court appearance on August 26, 2014, in Dauphin Provincial Court.
Winnipegosis RCMP were assisted by the Manitoba West District Major Crime Unit, Headingley RCMP Police Dog Service, the RCMP National Weapons Enforcement Support Team and officers from several nearby RCMP detachments.
