A cyclist is dead after being struck by a van on Highway 9 between Netley Road and Kreamer Road near Teulon, Manitoba.
On July 20, 2014, just after midnight, Selkirk RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Highway 9 between Netley Road and Kreamer Road.
Police say that a van was traveling south on Highway 9 when it struck a cyclist traveling in the middle of the road. The 25-year-old cyclist from Winnipeg was deceased on scene. The 69-year-old female driver from Selkirk suffered no injuries.
RCMP report that the driver was not intoxicated. At this time, it is unknown if the cyclist was impaired. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.
A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
