July 18-20 this year marked the dates for the Winnipeg Beach Boardwalk Days at Winnipeg Beach.
The Gimli and Arborg RCMP worked in conjunction with event organizers to ensure the public were staying safe and obeying the laws while enjoying their time during the event. The RCMP “D” Division Action Response Team (DART), along with members of the Gimli-Arborg RCMP, were deployed in the area during this time.
Over the weekend police responded to 18 calls for service in the Town of Winnipeg Beach, as well, the following charges were laid:
- 9 charges of open liquor under the Liquor and Gaming Control Act
- 11 charges of Minor consume /posses liquor
- 30 charges which included speeding and seatbelt charges under the Highway Traffic Act
- 1 charge under the Off Road Vehicles Act
- 2 24 hour alcohol related driving suspensions
The “D” Division Action Response Team is a crime-reduction strategy that involves leveraging RCMP resources to address specific emerging public safety issues. The RCMP are committed to preserving the peace and creating a safe environment for our communities.
