On July 17, 2014, Peguis RCMP were contacted by Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba, regarding a 21-month-old girl in medical distress.
Police say that the child had been brought to the hospital via ambulance at approximately 3pm and succumbed to her injuries on the same evening.
Peguis RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Major Crime Services, are investigating the death as a homicide. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
