On July 27, 2014, just after midnight, Gimli RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Provincial Road 231 in Gimli, Manitoba.

Police say that a car was traveling west on PR 231 when it entered the eastbound lane and hit the south ditch. The car rolled and the lone occupant, an 18-year-old female from Gimli, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased on scene.

RCMP report that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision. It is not yet confirmed whether the deceased was wearing a seatbelt.

A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
