Premier Greg Selinger will lead a Skills and Jobs Tour to connect more families with skills training for good jobs, here in Manitoba.
“Today our province is building like never before and all this momentum offers good job and training opportunities for families,” said Premier Selinger. “That’s why we’re creating new apprenticeship and college training opportunities, to give our kids more options and help set them on the path to a good career and a brighter future.”
The Skills and Jobs Tour will provide Manitobans with information on preparing for entering some of the province’s most in-demand jobs, the premier said. Public meetings in several communities will give Manitoba families the chance to speak with and hear from local employers, training and education providers and provincial apprenticeship staff.
“A good career means our young people can have the chance to build a good life and buy a home, right here in Manitoba,” Jobs and the Economy Minister Theresa Oswald said. “If you’re in school or already working and wanting to train for a better job, the Manitoba government can help you get the skills you need to build a bright future here in our province.”
“Whether it’s an apprenticeship, college or university, there are no wrong doors to a good education and a better career,” Education Minister James Allum said. “This tour will help more Manitobans tap into the opportunities all around us.”
