Portage la Prairie RCMP are asking the public for any information on the whereabouts of Shane Rene Richard, wanted by police in connection to a recent home invasion.
On August 12, 2014, just before 10:30pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received report of a home invasion at a residence in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Police say that the homeowner opened the front door after hearing a knock. Two males forced their way into the residence demanding money. After a physical altercation, the suspects fled the scene with items from the home.
The 34-year-old male victim was transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released.
The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Leslie James Sullivan of Portage la Prairie and 28-year-old Shane Rene Richard of Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba. Charges of break and enter, robbery and mischief, have been laid against both men. Shane Rene Richard has also been charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Warrants of arrest were issued for both suspects. On August 18, 2014, Leslie James Sullivan was located and arrested in Winnipeg by the Manitoba Integrated Warrant Apprehension Unit. He is being held in police custody was scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie court.
The arrest warrant for Shane Rene Richard is still outstanding.
