RCMP are currently investigating a recent report of child abuse that occurred in the Parkland region of Manitoba.
On August 7, 2014, Parkland RCMP received report of a case of child abuse in the Parkland area. Investigation revealed that two female youth under the age of 10 were being abused physically and sexually by their custodial parents. The children, as well as a younger female sibling, were removed from the home immediately and all three are in the care of Child and Family Services.
Investigators discovered the children were often not fed and they were locked in their rooms for most of the day. The two older girls were also forced to perform sexual acts.
RCMP report that the parents of the children have been arrested. The names of the parents and the exact location where this occurred will not be released to protect the identities of the children. Both parents are facing numerous charges.
The RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
