With a confirmed field of 29 drivers from 18 different nations, Niverville native David Richert is set to be Canada’s lone representative at this weekend’s Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup (NEC) race event in Most, Czech Republic.
Last year, over 80,000 spectators took in the action at Autodrom Most which is situated approximately 80km northwest of Prague. Competitors will have the maximum opportunity to learn the challenging circuit as this weekend’s schedule sees a step away from the traditional format and features not only an extra full day of practice on Thursday, but also the addition of a third race.
After being rewarded with a GP2 test from Inter Europol Competition at the end of July, Richert is fresh off the traditional mid-summer European break and ready to tackle the remaining part of the season.
“I’m looking forward to being back in the race car this weekend and the extra day of testing is really going to help as I’ve never been to this race circuit before,” said Richert. “I was very happy with our progress at Spa-Francorchamps during the last race weekend and if we can take another step forward this weekend I will be incredibly happy.”
