On August 26, 2014, shortly before midnight, Wabowden RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 6 in the Setting Lake area, approximately 20 kilometres north of Wabowden, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation shows that a pickup truck was traveling north when it hit the east shoulder of the road. The truck rolled, landing on its roof.
Police say that a 47-year-old man from the RM of Rockwood was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor at this time and that the deceased was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The investigation continues with the assistance of a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
