The RCMP will be participating in the world’s largest truck convoy for Special Olympics as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Manitoba.
The convoy to kick off the run, which will include RCMP, Winnipeg Police Service, St. Anne’s Police Department, Victoria Beach Police Department, Canadian Forces, the RM of Cornwallis and Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers from the Manitoba government, will slow traffic on the Perimeter Highway around Winnipeg on September 6, 2014.
Motorists are advised that the convoy will be starting near Oak Bluff at approximately 11am, heading southeast around the Perimeter, ending at Oak Bluff at approximately 12:30pm. Traffic in the area will be considerably delayed.
Public safety is the top priority, and RCMP officers will be out guiding traffic to help everyone stay safe on the road.
