On September 5, 2014, at about 5am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle colliding with a tree on Robinson Avenue in the City of Selkirk.

Police say that a vehicle with three occupants struck a tree in the 400 block of Robinson Avenue. A 27-year-old female passenger of the vehicle, from the RM of St. Clements, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 21-year-old male driver and another 27-year-old female passenger, both from Selkirk, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigation determined that alcohol and speed were factors in the collision. All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
