Just before 10pm on September 18, 2014, Portage la Prairie RCMP seized a quantity of cocaine during a traffic stop.
While on patrol, police observed a 2006 Dodge Charger on Royale Road North in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign. Subsequent investigation revealed that the lone occupant in the vehicle was in possession of 24 grams of cocaine and a sum of cash.
RCMP report that 23-year-old Travis William Lewadniuk of Portage la Prairie was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of proceeds of crime and resisting arrest.
RCMP would like to remind the public that those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities. The RCMP remain fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.
