On October 5, 2014, at approximately 7:45pm, Treherne RCMP received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 2, near Treherne, Manitoba.

Police located the vehicle traveling west on Highway 2 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of being impaired and was arrested.

The driver, Patrick Gavin, 30, of Winnipeg, was charged with impaired driving of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with a demand made for the purpose of enabling a sample of the breath, resisting arrest and causing mischief under $5,000. The accused was released and is set to appear in court on November 17, 2014 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

The RCMP wish to remind the public that impaired driving is the cause of numerous injuries and death on our roads. Please remember that your ability to drive may be impaired by both illicit and prescription medication. Both forms of impaired driving are illegal.
